The UCDP mentorship is an advanced program developed for the pre-professional dancer that wants to kickstart a career in commercial dance. With a limited number of spots available each season, UCDP is designed to provide personalized training by established professionals of the commercial dance industry, including one-on-one mentoring by program head Kayla Kalbfleisch. Designed to coexist with other work/school commitments, this is a weekend program based in the Los Angeles/Orange County area. Upon graduation, the UCDP dancer will possess the necessary knowledge, tools, and training to embark on a future in commercial dance.

Discover the
UCDP Approach
- Limited number of spots available to allow for personalized training - prospective students must apply for enrollment.
- 2 days weekly on Saturdays & Sundays, in Studio Fusion Huntington Beach, and Los Angeles locations.
- 8 months duration from September to June, with a 1-month break during the holidays.
- 1:1 mentoring by the UCDP program head
- Personalized coaching by established professionals working in the commercial dance industry.
- Graduate with headshots, dance reel, professional dance resume.
- Learn within actual job environments of the commercial dance industry.
- Train in every style of commercial dance.
- Train in commercial specialty skills.
PROGRAM CURRICULUM
The UCDP Curriculum
Personalized Coaching
by established professionals of the commercial dance industry, including Creative Directors, TV Producers, Talent Agents, Choreographers, and other major players in the industry.
1:1 Mentoring
by UCDP program head Kayla Kalbfleisch, a Senior Creative Producer and Choreographer working in Los Angeles (Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, The Masked Singer, The Masked Dancer, American Song Contest, The Ellen Show).
Graduate with dance reel,
headshots, and resume
Get headshots, create your dance reel, write your professional dance resume.
Train in actual industry job environments
including professional music videos, dance concept films, talent auditions, and more.
Train in every style of
commercial dance
including jazz, hip hop, contemporary, heels, and more.
Train in specialty skills
including ballroom, Latin, aerial, waacking, voguing, singing, character/acting, cheer, musical theater.
